We Have A Biter

Today seemed very busy.  We had Lloyds former broker and his wife over for dinner.  I haven't seen them in so long!  They are more like family than business associates of Lloyds.  They are getting ready to head down to Florida for a few months and they hadn't met Lauryn yet so we had them over for dinner.  I spent most of the day cleaning and getting dinner ready.  It was so nice to finally use our dining room!  We've been here since the end of March and finally used it for dinner.  We didn't have a dining room at our old house and we always just eat at the kitchen table here.  They brought Lauryn an early birthday present.  It's so cute!  It's a tooth fairy dog.  It's a cute purple fuzzy dog that has a little backpack on it and when she's old enough to lose teeth, she can put the tooth in the backpack for the tooth fairy and check it in the morning to see what was left for her.  I've never heard of it before but I think it's a really cute idea.  Lauryn loved it!  She was hugging and kissing it :)  She kissed Nancy right after they got here and normally it takes her quite a while to warm up to someone enough to give them kisses.  Dinner turned out great and everyone seemed to enjoy it.  We had salads with all kinds of toppings, lasagna and garlic bread.  Towards the end of the visit, I was sitting on the floor with Lauryn and she stood up and hugged me and then bit my shoulder!  She's done this before and we tell her "No, no" and I know she's doing it because of the teething but tonight she bit hard!  About five minutes later I looked at my shoulder and there was a bump and a bruise already!  We're really going to have to start getting after her so she doesn't do that to anyone else!

I am so looking forward to this Friday.  I'm on a discussion board called the Michigan Moms Club and quite a few of us are getting together at a restaurant for dinner.  I'm excited because I haven't done anything without Lloyd or Lauryn, since Lauryn was born so it will be nice to have a little "Cari" time, plus, I haven't seen a few of the girls since just after Lauryn was born and we're going to a Mexican restaurant I've never been to but have heard a lot about.  It should be a fun night!  I can't wait!
