Rock 'n' Roll

Before Christmas, Lauryn came up to me and said that she needed a sparkly black guitar to match her sparkly black shoes.  While we were out Christmas shopping, Lloyd and I found a Dora guitar.  Lauryn has Dora slippers so I figured that was close enough.  She was thrilled when she opened her present and found a guitar that lets her play on her own and has songs programmed in that she can sing to.  Every day, she grabs her guitar and jams out to songs that she's made up, ones she's heard on the radio or ones we've taught her.  I love that she's so interested in singing and music.  She's also had a drum set and a little keyboard but she's shown the most interest in the guitar.  Maybe when she gets a little bit older, we can get her a real one and some lessons.  Her Dora guitar is fun for now but I'm betting that the older she gets, the more she'll want to get into the real thing.  Lloyd and I both have people in our families that play and maybe they could help her too.  Below is a picture of my sweet girl, rocking out on her new guitar.  The smile on her face says it all!
