In The Crochet Groove

Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day!  I just got Lucas down for his nap, I'm going to crochet for a bit and then it's time to get ready to go to lunch with Kathy. :)  I started working on a new tree skirt for our Christmas tree.  I made one last year but I wasn't happy with the colors so I think I'm going to try to sell it and hopefully I can get this one done before the holidays.  I am in a crocheting mood and since I haven't been for a while, I want to take advantage of it.  I'm hoping to get this done and Lucas's blanket done before Christmas.  I decided that once I'm done with Lucas's blanket, I'm not going to make any more.  I used to always make them for friends and family but when I saw a beautiful baby blanket, that I'd worked on for countless hours, tacked up over a window to block out the sun, it broke my heart and I decided I can't spend all those hours working on something when it won't be appreciated.  I will keep making the nylon scrubbies, hats, mittens and other smaller projects that don't take up so much time.

I am so looking forward to my lunch date with Kathy!  She and I always have so much fun when we get together and we're going to Pizza Hut for their lunch buffet.  If we have enough time before I have to pick Lauryn up from school, she's going to hang out with Lucas for a bit so I can renew my driver's license.  I'm hoping this means a new picture because my last one was awful!  :P

  1. Wow that blows my mind someone did that with a blanket you made and had the balls to leave it there for you to see. I only wish I could make the stuff you do and if I were them I'd appreciate it more than they seem to.

  2. I had a similar experience with a table cloth. I no longer give away anything that is so time intensive.
I am glad you are still doing the scrubbies though... hint, hint!

  3. Cary ~ I'm pretty sure I wasn't meant to see it. I was still nursing Lucas at the time and when I asked where I could go to nurse him privately, they suggested that room. I was hurt because not only did I put a lot of time into it, I was told they really wanted that specific one (same as the one I made for Lauryn, with different colors) and to see it being used like that was so upsetting. I was only going to use that pattern for blankets for my kids but since I'd heard they really wanted one like that, I went ahead and did it for them too.

  4. Kathye ~ A blanket takes a lot of time but your table cloths take FOREVER! That's even more heart breaking! Remind me the next time your here about the scrubbies :)
