Pieces Everywhere

Lauryn has received many puzzles over the last couple of years and right now, they are all in a mess, all over the dining room/play room.  For some reason, she has never really been interested in puzzles but she loves to pull the apart and use each piece for some other game she's made up.  Things like using pieces as money for her cash register or to trace when she's coloring but never to sit down and put together the way they're meant to.  I'm sure there must be missing pieces too.  I've tried to keep them all together but once she gets her hands on them, it's useless.  Part of me wants to check with educa to see about replacement pieces and part of me just wants to throw them all away and tell everyone to stop getting them for her!  Maybe someday she'll get into them but right now, she would just rather make a mess of them.

She's Going To Be Happy

Lloyd came across a REALLY good deal on a Wii system, along with a ton of games, a drawing board, the Wii fit board, controllers, etc.  I'm looking forward to it because we've wanted one for a long time but haven't wanted to pay the price.  We waited and it paid off!  :)  Lauryn is really getting into different games and I know she'll have fun with it.  I tried explaining it to her earlier and although I'm sure she didn't really know what I was talking about, she was still really excited.  :)  We waited until she went to bed tonight to set it up, just incase something didn't work, but I'm sure as soon as she sees it in the morning she's going to want to figure it all out and play some of the games :)

Games

Sometimes I wish we had a Wii or a playstation 3 or any kind of video game.  I never really got into them when I was younger but have played them as an adult and they can be really fun.  It's been ages but Lloyd and I used to play some racing game on his old nintendo.  It was fun to get it out every once in a while and play.  We used to play monopoly, rummey, dice and yahtzee too.  I can't even think of the last time we played any of those games.  Maybe one of these nights after Lauryn goes to bed, I should break out the dice and start a game :)
