Nesting

I think the nesting has begun!  Aside from buying some things that our little boy will be needing, I've been on a cleaning/organizing kick.  It's great because there have been things I've been meaning to tackle for a while now and either forget about it or just can't find the time.  Yesterday, Lauryn's closet got organized and all of the clothes that don't fit her anymore got boxed up for my niece.  All the clothes that were the next size up are now hanging neatly in the closet.  I also boxed up some blankets and her crib bedding to donate.  I started getting Lucas's room organized and now there are just boxes that need to go down to the basement.  The linen closet looks a ton better and everything is organized in it's own little fabric lined basket.  I love opening doors and seeing neatness!  There's still a lot to do but I've made progress this week!  One of the things still on my to-do list is to figure out just what will bring the sparkle back in our kitchen sink.  I honestly don't know what it's made of but it just doesn't sparkle like it should.  I was looking at triple undermount sinks the last time I was at the hardware store and although they are nice, I really like ours.  I just need to find what will make it look shiny and new again.

Let's Get Organized!!!

We've been in this house for a couple of months now and there are still a few places that need some serious organizing!  I made a list today of all the things I want to get done and although I'm not planning on doing it all in one shot, I did get two things crossed off.  Two of the things I really want to get to are Lauryn's closet and the third bedroom.  With Lauryn's closet, I just need to go through all the clothes that don't fit her anymore and swap them out with the clothes that do and there are a couple of boxes of decorations that I need to go through from her old bedroom.  With the third bedroom, that became a catch all for holiday decorations, extra bathroom items and just random things that didn't have any place else to go.  In less that 20 weeks, we will have a new baby in that room and I want to get it ready, little by little, so we won't have to do it just before he arrives.  My craft room in the basement is a complete disaster!  There's yarn, nylon netting, jewelry making items and every other craft I've ever worked on, everywhere!  That will probably be a "when Lauryn's in bed" project.  She's a great helper but there's so much to go through and get organized that it'll just be easier to by myself.  Now to get the motivation to get this all done :)

Organizing

As much as I clean every day, this house definitely has places and spaces that need some organization.  Even after I've cleaned those places, it doesn't take long for them to get cluttered again.  There's a drawer in the kitchen that had dividers in it and I will have it all organized and sorted out and the next thing you know, it's a mess again.  Same thing goes for Lauryn's closet.  I go through it and sort the clothes that fit now and the clothes she's grown out of.  I have boxes of shoes, cool t-shirts, dresses and coordinating outfits that no longer fit and are put in the basement, with the sizes on the side of the box.  Again, it never lasts.  People bring us bags of clothes they were given or they picked up at sales and before you know it, her closet it a mess again.  One of these days I'll get a better system down!

Cleaning Out My Closet

It's time to clean out my closet.  It's actually way over due!  Every time I open my door, things are falling out at my feet!  The problem is that I have a ton of yarn and craft things that I need to organize and get into my new craft room.  That would take care of most of the problem.  The other issue, is that I have so many things that could be donated to Goodwill, things I don't wear or no longer have use for.  I still have a couple of bridesmaid dresses from about a million years ago!  I should donate those to one of those stores that sell discount bridesmaid dresses.  They are very pretty dresses, I got lucky and have never had a bride make me wear an awful dress, and someone could get some use out of them!  Organizing and donating somethings would make my closet a whole lot roomier!
