Starting The Cereal

Now that Lucas is almost 17 weeks, I decided to start trying to feed him rice cereal.  Last night was our first try and it was not very successful.  He seemed to be trying to eat it but he was also upset so it didn't go very well.  I was thinking that if I tried it before his last nursing session, he might sleep a little better.  What I wasn't thinking was that my boy is very much into his nighttime routine and since I changed things up, he wasn't dealing with it well.  I tried more cereal just a little bit ago and it went much better.  Tonight, I'm going to try it again but I'm going to do it before we start the bedtime routine.  I think it will go much better that way.  Here's hoping that we get it figured out and that he and I might actually sleep through the night! :)

Ah, Bedtime

As much as I love being a stay at home mom, I very much look forward to Lauryn's bed time each night.  Bed time means, mom gets a little break, I can have a little time with Lloyd before he goes to bed and my house will stay clean for a couple of hours. :)  She has her routines down too!  When we mention bed time, she starts picking up all her toys.  Not so much because she's learned to pick up after herself (we're still working on that one!) but it's her way of stalling.  Either way, my living room gets picked up :)  Then it's off to brush her teeth, say her "goodnights" and then it's story time.  We read a few stories, the light goes off, we rock in her chair and sing a couple of songs then she's off to bed.  If any of that happens out of order, watch out!  She's very much into her routines!  We got her a stool, for reaching the sink better when she's brushing her teeth, but I don't think it's quite tall enough for her.  I'm thinking about getting a two step stool.  I just get nervous because chin is level with the countertop and she's bumped into it before.  If we had a taller stool we could avoid that.  Anyway, another reason I like bed time is because then I can catch up with my blog and facebook :)
