Weekend In Review

Friday~Lloyd took the day off and we went to the John Ball Park zoo.  We had such a nice day!  I think Lloyd and I actually were more into it than Lauryn was but she did have fun too :)  After the zoo, we went to our old house to see the renter, who I finally got to meet, and saw Wayne while we were there.  I so miss having him as a neighbor!  We stopped at Lowe's on the way home so Lloyd could get more sand for his horseshoe pits and a fire pit which Lloyd surprised me with later and then headed home.  Mom came over for dinner and Kathye stopped by and ate with us.  After Lauryn went to bed, mom and I went to Greenville for some late night shopping.  I got a new pair of shoes, socks,a scrap booking kit, fireworks and some other odds and ends. We were looking for cotton balls and ended up in front of hemorrhoids treatments.  That gave us a few giggles!  You had to be there :)

Saturday~We spent the day around the house, cleaning and doing yard work.  We went and got groceries, grilled dinner and in the evening we had a fire in the new fire pit that Lloyd surprised me with.  He picked it up the day before and didn't tell me :)  We were going to roast marshmallows but were way to full from dinner :)

Sunday~A little more light cleaning and then mom came over for dinner.  I made chicken breasts and corn on the cob on the grill and macaroni salad.  Mom brought a yummy snicker-apple dessert.  We visited outside for a while and waited for it to get dark enough to do some fireworks.  Lauryn got to stay up quite a bit later than usual to watch them and I think that played a part in her not liking them quite as much as I thought she would.  She got a little pouty and fussy on the high pitched ones but thankfully there were only a couple of those!  She went to bed as soon as we were done and Lloyd and I spent the evening hanging out and trying to stay cool!  I was very happy that Lloyd decided to stay home Monday too!  He almost never takes days off and we actually got a four day weekend together!  So nice!
