What A Great Day!

Today was a pretty great day, from beginning to end.  After getting myself and the kids ready, we had a nice visit from our friend Michelle and her two boys.  We haven't spent time with them in a while so it was great to catch up and for them to finally meet Lucas.  We ate lunch, the kids played and I had a really nice time talking with Michelle.  Shortly after they left, Lauryn, Lucas and I headed to Meijer to pick up a few things.  When we got home, Lauryn really wanted to help me with dinner.  She was such a big helper and we had a lot of fun getting everything ready.  We made sloppy joes, fries and corn.  She helped mix the sloppy joe sauce, season the corn, cut up some cheese and spread the fries on the pan.  Then she helped me wash some baby bottles, get the coffee ready for tomorrow morning and clean out the fridge.  We've had some rough evenings lately, where she has been dramatic and I haven't had a lot of patience, so this was such a nice change of pace.  While we were waiting on dinner, she and I put together a puzzle that Michelle and the boys got her.  Lloyd got home just as dinner was getting done and we all were able to sit down and have a meal together.  We talked about our day, about errors & omissions insurance, then Lloyd and Lauryn played games together while I fed Lucas.  He fell asleep and I was feeling incredibly tired so I asked Lloyd if he minded if I went to take a nap in bed.  Lucas usually sleeps for a couple of hours and since I haven't slept in our bed lately, I felt like it was a good opportunity to stretch out and catch up a little.  Lloyd let me sleep until almost midnight, when he was going to bed, and that nap was just what I needed!  Now I'm ready to face the rest of the night and whatever Lucas is going to throw at me :)
