Weekend In Review

Friday ~ Did a little cleaning in the  morning and then headed to Greenville with the kids to pick up Lloyd's Sweetest Day gift.  We stopped in at Lauryn's school on the way to drop off the sub sale money and her tuition and then we went to the library when we got back into town.  I picked up a couple of books for Lauryn and a couple of books on dehydrating and canning food.  Mom came over after work and we had a nice visit.  We had cheese ravioli with meat sauce and breadsticks for dinner.  She showed me how to hem Lauryn's Halloween princess dress so it won't drag or trip her during trick-or-treating. Saturday ~ Lucas was up during the night and then up pretty early in the morning so I was one tired Mama.  I gave Lloyd his Sweetest Day gift, a card, slippers and a container to mix his shakes up at work in, and then he took care of the kids so I could get a little more rest.  When I got up, he had breakfast almost done and after we ate, he headed out to pick up a few things at the store.  When he got home, he surprised me and Lauryn with cards and flowers for each of us.  In the afternoon, Lauryn and Lloyd worked in the yard and I got some things done around the house while Lucas was sleeping.  In the evening, we went over to my grandparent's house for a visit and dinner.  Everything was delicious!  We had pork roast, roasted vegetables, salad, potatoes, rolls and a very yummy apple crisp for dessert.  We had a great time visiting with them!  When we got home, it was time to get the kids to bed and we relaxed and watched a little tv before going to bed ourselves. Sunday ~ Lloyd left early to help a friend and the kids and I had a pretty peaceful morning.  Both kids were coming down with colds so I was happy they were both resting and relaxing so much.  In the afternoon, Lloyd's parents came for a visit and we invited them to stay for dinner.  We ordered pizza and snacked on cheese and crackers and pumpkins seeds.  We had a nice time and Lauryn seemed to be feeling better.  Lucas was still coughing with a bit of a runny nose but he was very happy.  In the evening, we got the kids down for the night and enjoyed talking a little bit before going to bed.  We talk daily, obviously, but it's nice when we can just relax and enjoy a conversation like we used to do!  Everything from Halloween treats, costumes, real estate wilmington nc to sports and politics.  Then it was off to bed for us to try to get some sleep before the start of a busy week.
