Why I Chose This Tattoo
I always planned on getting a tattoo with my kids' names on it someday, when I knew we were done having kids. I've had a few different ideas but then I came across a picture I loved and made an appointment. I knew there might be a chance it couldn't be done exactly like the picture, but I wanted to use it to give the artist an idea. It HAD to have three butterflies: one for Lauryn, one for Lucas, and one for the baby I lost in between them. It also HAD to have Lauryn and Lucas's names. Those things were very important to me. The artist, Chad from A Mystery Ink, freehanded a picture and I LOVED it! I'll be honest, it hurt like hell! When he first started I thought, "Crap, this hurts BAD! Is this a good idea?" But I've wanted it for a very long time and there was no way I'd stop with only part of it done. I'm so glad I sucked it up and went through with it. I did squeeze the heck out of Lloyd's hand. So here it is, my new tattoo. This picture was taken shortly after we got home so there is still a little ink on the side of my foot :P

Thanks for sharing the link to your tattoo post! It's beautiful and I like that you have meaning to it. I've heard it hurts like hell on the foot. What a nice way to honor your children. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteThe foot hurt worse than my other three (two wrists and ankle) combined! It's gorgeous and I love the meaning.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful tattoo! I've always wanted one on my foot, and heard they are quite painful!
ReplyDeleteMelissa ~ Thank you :) It was pretty bad but, for me, it was so worth it!
ReplyDeleteKwizgiver ~ Thank you! I have one other one, on my back near my shoulder, and it was so much worse than that one.
ReplyDeleteDawn ~ You're welcome :) My first tattoo was just a pretty butterfly, because I've always loved them, but I wanted this one to mean something.
