Mission Impossible Parenting

That's a great title, isn't it?  Ha ha!  Lucas has a little bit of a cough and kept waking up.  The last time I was in with him, I remembered that putting Vicks on his feet seemed to help the last time he had a cold.  Since I was rocking him, and he's not a little baby anymore, I knew there was no way I could keep him sleeping while getting up to get the Vicks from the bathroom.  I needed to get Lloyd's attention without waking Lucas up, so I whistled softly.  Lloyd was in the living room though, and is deaf in one ear, so he didn't hear.  Two more failed attempts and I finally whistled one loud whistle.  Luckily, Lucas didn't even flinch and Lloyd heard me.  He came in and I asked him to grab the Vicks and a baby wipe.  I took off Lucas's sock and Lloyd wiped the Vicks on.  Both feet were taken care of and Lucas never woke up.  Since Lucas isn't the heavy sleeper that Lauryn is, it felt like Mission Impossible Parenting.  He's back in bed and hasn't coughed since!  Hopefully this will get him a good nights sleep. :)
