I had my 6 week postpartum check up today and everything is looking good! I weigh 19 lbs. less than I did before I got pregnant and best of all my blood pressure is down! No more medicine to keep it in check! That made me very happy! The same thing happened when I was pregnant with Lauryn, high blood pressure that I had to take medicine for after she was born, and that worked then but I was nervous that it would be an issue this time because it was so high at the end. As we were checking out and setting up my yearly appointment for next July, the receptionist told me she was going to miss us. She was there throughout my pregnancy with Lauryn too and after so many appointments, you kind of feel like you know each other. :) I thought that was sweet.
I've been getting really random links in my email lately. Some of them are from friends accounts that have been hacked and then there are ones that are like http://www.shoppharmacycounter.com/t-phentermine.aspx. I know what that is all about and all I can say is that who needs anti-suppressants when you are nursing and barely getting any sleep because you have a new baby? Honestly, that combination seems to be the best weight loss secret I've ever heard of! :)

Happy Birthday, Lloyd!!!
Today is my amazing husbands birthday! He left early for work this morning and Lauryn and I got ready and headed out shortly after. Today I had my glucose test and I had to drink that sickeningly sweet orange drink before we left. We picked Lloyd up at his office and headed to my doctors. The good news is that Lucas's heartbeat was a good, strong 156 and I'm measuring right on target. The bad news, I failed my glucose test and now I have to go in and take the three hour one. Ugh! It wouldn't be so bad but I have to stay at the lab the whole time and if I can't figure out what to do with Lauryn, she'll have to go with me. How on earth am I going to keep Lauryn busy for three hours in a waiting room! Anyway, after my appointment, Lauryn and I took Lloyd to Applebee's for lunch. The three of us rarely get to do anything like that together so it was pretty nice to sit down and enjoy a meal out. After lunch, we dropped Lloyd back off at his office and Lauryn and I headed to Greenville to pick up a few things at the store. When we got home, we baked Lloyd's birthday cake, got his gifts wrapped and his cards filled out. :) My mom came over when she got out of work and we had a nice visit. A little after she left, Lauryn and I headed outside and played on her swing set for a while. Once we got to cold we came back in and then Lloyd got home. He opened his presents, we ate dinner and since we were all pretty stuffed, we lit the candles on Lloyd's cake, sang "Happy Birthday," Lloyd and Lauryn blew out the candles and made a wish but none of had any room to eat it! LOL There's always tomorrow! The rest of the evening has been spent relaxing and catching up on online stuff. After the great day we had, it was nice to check my email and see a message sent from triangle direct media. That always makes my day!

Looking Forward To Tomorrow
This turned out to be a pretty nice weekend. Mom came over on Friday and we went shopping. She found some things for her and I found a few really cute outfits for Lauryn. When we got back to my house, we were surprised to see Lloyd was already home. I love it when he gets home earlier than anticipated :) We had a pretty good dinner - meatloaf, loaded baked potatoes and green beans and then we just hung out for a little while.
Yesterday Lloyd, Lauryn and I did some grocery shopping. I love stocking up the cupboards and the freezer! Then I know I can have good meals waiting for Lloyd when he comes home from a long day at work :) He did some work in the basement for a couple of hours while I cleaned up the house. We had tacos and guacamole for dinner and I actually had a couple of drinks! I made them with Malibu Coconut Rum, pineapple juice and Hawaiian punch. They tasted tropical and yummy!
Today we did end up going to the reunion. The weather wasn't quite as bad as they had predicted. When the sun was covered and the wind was blowing though, it got pretty chilly. It was nice seeing everyone and eating some good food. I made my ham dip wrap bites to take with us. I'll post the recipe for that later.
Lauryn has her nine month check up tomorrow. I usually don't look forward to her appointments because of her getting shots but she doesn't have to get them. It's just a regular check up. I'm excited to see just how much she's grown! I try to weigh her on the scale with me to figure out her weight but I don't think it's all that accurate. Plus, her doctor is pregnant and should be getting close to her due date so I'm excited to see how things are going for her.
I hear Lauryn talking to her daddy right now :) It's about her bath time, then it's story time, then bed time and Lloyd and I can have a few minutes to ourselves.
