Friday ~ After picking Lauryn up from school and running a couple of errands, we came home and I made lasagna roll-ups. Lauryn's friend, Sophie, came over to play and we invited her to stay for dinner. My mom came over for "Nana Friday" and we had a nice visit. Saturday ~ I took a nap in the morning, after not sleeping well all night, and got a few things done around the house. Lloyd and Lauryn ran a couple of errands and when they got home, they surprised me with flowers and a card for Sweetest Day. Lloyd also surprised Lauryn with flowers and she was so excited! My mom came over to watch the kids so Lloyd and I could have a date night. We started with getting some shopping done. We have a baby shower, my niece's birthday and Lauryn's birthday right around the corner so we got what we needed, plus Halloween candy for the trick-or-treaters. We were going to go to Bistro 57 for dinner but decided on Applebee's at the last minute. When the hostess was going to seat us, I saw she was taking us to a table that is so close to the next table that it feels like you're sitting with another couple. I thought that would be awkward until I saw the other couple was my stepbrother and his girlfriend. It's been a while so it was nice chatting with them and catching up. Before going home, we stopped into Candlestone for a drink and to watch the game. We had such a nice evening and it was great to get out, just the two of us. I'm so happy we're making date nights a priority! Sunday ~ Lazy day! We're not used to staying out late so Lloyd and I were both whooped. Lloyd was also coming down with a cold so we just chilled most of the day.
Sounds like a fun weekend!! And making date night a priority is a must!!!
ReplyDeleteJodi ~ We're going to try hard to keep it a priority! Getting out, as a couple, once or twice a year just doesn't cut it!
