Yay! He's Home!!!

What a long weekend it was without Lloyd here.  He left very early Thursday morning to go on his family's annual snowmobiling trip and he got home today around 4:30.  We all missed him so much!  I'm glad he had fun and I do believe that spending a little time apart is good for a couple but man, it was hard!  Lauryn and I had a busy weekend though so that helped. I am so glad he's home! It was hard to sleep at night without him next to me!

Tonight I made my very first apple pie from scratch :)  It turned out so good!  The crust was really flaky and yummy!  Lloyd really liked it and I was surprised that making the crust wasn't as much work as I thought it would be.  I've made pies before but I've always used the pre-made crusts because I thought making one from scratch would be too hard.  Lloyd just might be getting pie all of the time now :)

I've been thinking a lot about my physical appearance lately and how I'm trying to make the changes that I can.  I'm working on the weight issue, which is something that doesn't cost a lot to work on but there are other things that I would love to change but can't because it would cost too much.  The main thing I would love to fix would be my teeth.  For years it didn't bother me that they were a little crooked but the older I get, the more I wish they were nicer.  I've been curious about lumineers and was trying to find out more about how that all works.  I came across dental implants Plano which doesn't apply to me since I'm not missing any teeth but it's all pretty fascinating what they can do to make your smile nicer.  Some days, I feel like I've had this smile for a long time now and it's really not that bad and other days I think I should start saving to get the problems fixed.

I Love Rainy Days

It's looking pretty dreary out there today.  I don't mind it one bit :)  It feels like a great day to stay in, play with my girl and work on the blanket I'm making for her.  It's getting pretty big now and I just love the colors.

Lauryn is getting a new tooth!  It's one of her top front teeth.  A few days ago, you could barely see it, now you can see that it's going to break through any time.  She's been a little fussy but not too bad.

Yesterday mom and I went shopping after she got out of work.  I was very happy because I found more of these kids wall decorations to put up in Lauryn's room.  They are pretty cute.  They're kind of like wallpaper pictures but they are incredibly easy to remove and re-stick anywhere.  I also found some cute trays and serving bowls and since they were on clearance because they were in the summer stuff, I paid .10 for one and .15 a piece for the other two...can't beat that!

I have no clue what to make for dinner tonight.  Lloyd won't be home until 7 pm so I whatever I end up making will be quick and easy.

The cat is laying in the chair next to me and she's snoring :)

What A Nice Day!

It's Friday and Lloyd is actually home!!! That never happens and it's so nice!

We had to run to the store this morning and we hit a couple of yard sales on the way home. We got a few odds and ends but at the very first sale we went to, we found an adorable little wooden rocking horse that's in really good condition for only $2!! I can't wait until Lauryn is a little bit bigger...she's going to looks so cute on it and I bet she'll love it!

Mom is coming over tonight and she's bringing dinner with her. She said since we always make dinner on Friday nights for her, she wants to make it for us. She's doing chicken breasts and corn on the cob on the grill and she made my grandma's macaroni salad -- Lloyd's favorite! I'm looking forward to someone cooking dinner for me :)
