Whew!

Lauryn and I ran a few errands this morning and ended up going to a nursery nearby to get some flowers and things for the garden.  It's pretty nice and warm today but being in those greenhouses was fricken hot!!!  We both left a little sweaty and red-faced but we got some very pretty flowers and some peppers, cucumbers, melons and herbs for the garden.  I let Lauryn pick out some flowers to plant and she was thrilled!  I told her she could pick anything she wanted and she went for some pink ones, which made me very happy because they will compliment the flowers that have already been planted.  She's very much her mama's girl, picking out the pink :)

Mom will be coming over for our usual Friday visit.  I'm going to be making chicken breasts on the grill, rice and watermelon.  I picked one up yesterday and it was delicious!  Perfectly sweet!

I'm almost done with my Pay It Forward crafts.  I've made four different things, that I've never done before, and the five recipients will receive one of each.  Once I know that the gifts have been received, I'll be posting pictures of each projects.  They were all little things but since they were new things I'd never made before, it was fun and I can't wait to show them off!

Weekend In Review

Friday ~ We had Willow all day.  The girls had a great day, with the exception of a very naught moment on Lauryn's part.  Lauryn and I ran to the bank and the store, then Mom came over.  We had very yummy NY strip steaks, baked potatoes, beans for Mom and Lloyd and salad for me and Lauryn.  I LOVE grilling weather!!

Saturday ~ Lloyd made breakfast then he and Lauryn headed over to visit with his parents and so Lloyd, his dad  and his uncle could put the new awning on our camper.  This was the first time in a very long time that I had the house to myself!  I was able to clean out Lauryn's closet, her dresser drawers, her toy box and craft drawer, I swept, mopped, vacuumed, swept the back steps and the patio.  It's amazing the things I can get done when my little "helper" isn't here to "help." :) 

Sunday ~ Lloyd made breakfast again then I cleaned up the kitchen while he went out to mow the lawn.  Lauryn and Cloz'r went for a walk with out neighbor, Millie, and then I got ready for the day.  Lauryn and I ran to the store to pick up a couple of things and stopped by Mom's for a little bit.  I made burgers on the grill, pasta salad, leftover beans and chips for dinner.  Have I mentioned that I love grilling season?  :)  Our evening was pretty mellow.  We ended our night with news of bin Laden's death.  Great news!  I think I slept a little better knowing that one of the terrorists is no longer a threat. 

It Happened!

I got sucked into the royal wedding!  I had no intentions of watching, I wasn't very interested at all, but it still happened.  I got up at 5:30 this morning, took a shower, grabbed a cup of coffee and turned the news on.  They were talking about the wedding so I decided to check it out for a minute to see what the dress looked like.  A minute turned into three hours!!!  I don't know how it happened but I couldn't turn the channel.  The bride was beautiful, the groom was handsome and of course, it was a huge, lavish affair.  I couldn't get over those crazy hats!  Some of them were insane!

Okay, I think it's all out of my system now.  Now to go on with the rest of my day! :)  Willow came at about 6:30 this morning and the girls have been running around, screaming and giggling ever since.  She'll be here until 2:30-ish then Lauryn and I have to run to the bank and the store.  Mom will be coming over but I haven't figured out dinner yet.  I'm thinking whatever we have, it will have to be on the grill!

What A Nice Day!

It's Friday and Lloyd is actually home!!! That never happens and it's so nice!

We had to run to the store this morning and we hit a couple of yard sales on the way home. We got a few odds and ends but at the very first sale we went to, we found an adorable little wooden rocking horse that's in really good condition for only $2!! I can't wait until Lauryn is a little bit bigger...she's going to looks so cute on it and I bet she'll love it!

Mom is coming over tonight and she's bringing dinner with her. She said since we always make dinner on Friday nights for her, she wants to make it for us. She's doing chicken breasts and corn on the cob on the grill and she made my grandma's macaroni salad -- Lloyd's favorite! I'm looking forward to someone cooking dinner for me :)

Feeling Better

Today is a little bit better than yesterday was.  I'm feeling better about things now and I hope everything will start getting on a better track.

Grilling again today.  We're having steaks, potatoes and salads for dinner.  It's a beautiful day for grilling!

Lauryn is so close to crawling now.  She tried so hard this afternoon and it was the closest she's ever come to actually doing it!  She's getting to be such a big girl!

What A Beautiful Day

Today turned out to be so nice!  Lloyd and I smoked his parents in two games of hillbilly golf (I love that game), we had steaks and baked potatoes on the grill and strawberry shortcake for dessert.  And Lauryn went to bed at 9:30 pm without any fussing or anything!  Hooray for fresh air!!! :)

I have so much laundry to catch up on tomorrow.  I wasn't able to do it for a couple of days because of all of the issues in the basement and only had time to do a small load this morning before we left.  I guess if it's going to be as warm in the next few days as they say it is, maybe going to the basement to catch up on it won't be so bad.  It's super cold down there.

I need to get out and weed my garden tomorrow.  I want to do it before it gets out of hand.  Since every thing is in rows, I shouldn't have a problem making sure what I'm picking is actually weeds and not my plants.  Don't laugh, it's happened before and I was totally confused why NONE of my flowers were coming up!
