Anyone Else Nervous?

This weather has been absolutely wonderful but being this nice in March makes me nervous!  I know this is Michigan and when it comes to weather, anything is possible, but still it makes me wonder what this means for summer.  I guess we should just enjoy it while we have it, right?

This probably makes me a bad parent but I don't mind that Lauryn watches cartoons in the morning.  She learns with them and I love hearing her count and add and come up with the correct answer before they say it on the cartoon.  The downside to her watching them is that I don't get to watch my soap.  It's been months and months since I've seen Y&R and I don't have a clue what's going on anymore.  I was thinking about downloading a vlc player to my computer to be able to catch up on it but I don't know if it's worth it.  I've never really gotten into watching shows on my computer and I wonder if it would take up too much space and make it run slower.  I'll have to ask around and see what other people have to say about it.

A Little Bit Dreary

The weather is dreary and this morning, so am I.  I did not sleep well at all last night and it is very much affecting me this morning.  Hopefully I'll snap out of it because I have a lot to do around the house today.  If I wasn't expecting, I might consider going out to buy testoripped for some extra energy!  LOL

Willow will be coming today and Lauryn is looking forward to playing with her.  They have so much fun together.  It's also nice for me because they get busy playing and I can get some cleaning done.  I really need to give Cloz'r a bath!  She's starting to smell like a dog and I just can't have that :)  Unfortunately, she's not a fan of bath time so it's always a big project to give her one.

Terrific Tuesday

The weather was absolutely gorgeous today!  Sunny and warm but not hot, humid and sweltering.  It was perfect!

Willow came over for a couple of hours and the girls had a ton of fun playing.  They both ate their lunch well and only Willow ended up taking a nap.  Lauryn was a stinker and played in her bed the whole time.  Kristin came to pick up Willow and I got to show her our camper.  I think she liked it :)  After they left, Lauryn and I went to the library to pick up a few books, stopped at the store then came home.  Lauryn visited with our neighbors while I unloaded the truck.  I was hoping she'd get a nap when we got back but she was awake and raring to go.  Then when I was getting dinner ready, around 5:30 p.m., she climbed into the play yard and fell asleep.  When I discovered her a few minutes later, I debated whether to let her sleep or to wake her up.  I let her sleep for about a half an hour and she woke up when Lloyd got home.  She was a pistol after that!  Lloyd and I ended up eating dinner without her because she wanted to lay in her bed and whine.  Finally, when she came out, she ate a little salad and them some toast.  After that, her mood changed back to the sweet little girl I know and the rest of the evening has been pleasant.  Thanks to our neighbors giving us some strawberries, we'll be enjoying some strawberry shortcake in a little bit :)

I've been looking at all of my online and I think I'm going to get some document management software from Dokmee.net.  My desktop and a lot of my folders are getting pretty messy and could use a little help!

Yay For Cooler Weather!

I am so happy that it finally cooled down!  I've been needing to weed the garden but with the past couple days being so darn hot, there was no way I was going to do it!  We have Willow today and after the girls get up from their nap, as long as it doesn't rain, we're going to go out back and they can play while I weed the garden and clean out the flower bed.

I have a lot to catch up on inside the house today too!  Being Thursday, with trash day tomorrow, I have to clean out the fridge, gather all the garbage, sweep, vacuum, clean the finger print smudged windows, clean the bathroom and do some laundry.  There are two loads just calling my name and I've been ignoring them.  Can't avoid it forever! :) 

I finished "I've Heard That Song Before" by Mary Higgins Clark this morning.  It was a pretty good read!  I have quite a few books that I recently picked up at sales and I'm trying to decide which one to read next :)

Another Hot One!

Since we had a couple of errands to run, we got ready early and went out before it got to hot.  Just a trip to the store and the post office and then we were back home in the air.  I think I'm going to get the sprinkler out this afternoon, for Lauryn to run around in after her nap.  I didn't end up getting the kiddie pool set up because it's in the top of the garage and I don't want to climb up  to get it.

I think we need to invest in a home steam carpet cleaner austin.  In the two and half years that we've been here, we've managed to keep the carpets looking pretty good but it would be nice to be able to steam clean them a couple of times a year, or steam clean spots when we get them.  Between the dog, the cat and a two year old, it's actually pretty amazing the carpets are in such good shape!  I'm going to check out http://www.thesteamteam.com/ to see what they have to offer.

What Happened To The Nice Day?

Just a little bit ago, the sun was shining and the day looked like it was going to be great.  Now, it's raining with thunder and we're under a tornado watch.  Poor Lloyd left to go mow my moms lawn a little bit ago.  Hopefully he's almost done and won't get drenched! 

We were supposed to go to our friends house this afternoon and I was really looking forward to it but I woke up with a nasty sore throat and a headache.  I felt awful for cancelling because I was really looking forward to hanging out with them but if I'm coming down with something, it's better to stay home and not to pass it on to them!

I got a new journal for baby #2 :)  I've kept a journal for Lauryn since I found out I was pregnant for her and I'm going to to the same for our second baby.  It took me a little while in the stationery aisle before I finally decided on one.  I hope that someday, when my kids are older and get to read these journals, they'll know how much they are loved and how excited Lloyd and are to be their parents!

Weekend In Review

Friday ~ We had Willow all day.  The girls had a great day, with the exception of a very naught moment on Lauryn's part.  Lauryn and I ran to the bank and the store, then Mom came over.  We had very yummy NY strip steaks, baked potatoes, beans for Mom and Lloyd and salad for me and Lauryn.  I LOVE grilling weather!!

Saturday ~ Lloyd made breakfast then he and Lauryn headed over to visit with his parents and so Lloyd, his dad  and his uncle could put the new awning on our camper.  This was the first time in a very long time that I had the house to myself!  I was able to clean out Lauryn's closet, her dresser drawers, her toy box and craft drawer, I swept, mopped, vacuumed, swept the back steps and the patio.  It's amazing the things I can get done when my little "helper" isn't here to "help." :) 

Sunday ~ Lloyd made breakfast again then I cleaned up the kitchen while he went out to mow the lawn.  Lauryn and Cloz'r went for a walk with out neighbor, Millie, and then I got ready for the day.  Lauryn and I ran to the store to pick up a couple of things and stopped by Mom's for a little bit.  I made burgers on the grill, pasta salad, leftover beans and chips for dinner.  Have I mentioned that I love grilling season?  :)  Our evening was pretty mellow.  We ended our night with news of bin Laden's death.  Great news!  I think I slept a little better knowing that one of the terrorists is no longer a threat. 

What To Do?

As Lauryn pointed out this morning, "It's raining...All Over!" so today will probably consist of cleaning, cooking, crafting and maybe some hide and seek. :) As much as I love getting out, I don't mind rainy, stay-in-the-house days either. Maybe we can color some spring themed pictures to decorate the picture window. That's one of my favorite things to do on a rainy day!

I saw a friend on Facebook mention getting a hybrid car. That got me thinking about the pros and cons of having one. I started to a little online research and found an article about hybrid car insurance being so much cheaper! That's a big pro! The more I read though, the more I realized there just as many cons as there are pros. I think I'll stick with what I've got.

Cold and Rainy

Yesterday we had snow, today it's cold and rainy.  Oh well, we ran our errands before it started and we don't have plans to go anywhere so I guess it's no big deal.

We found the cutest little Easter dress for Lauryn yesterday.  With a sweet little white sweater to go with it.  We found some dress shoes and tights and she's all ready for Easter now.  When we were looking at the shoes, it took everything I had not to go crazy and buy everything!  They had the cutest little tennis shoes, riding boots, sandals, etc.  I did good and stuck to getting just the things we were there for though.  I can't wait to see her all dressed up and to get a ton of pictures :)

We had a great visit with my sister-in-law, Trisha, and my sweet niece, Emma, today.  Lauryn really enjoyed it too!  We really need to do it more often!  I don't get to see them nearly as much as I'd like to!

We're having a soft dinner tonight.  Lloyd had to get some work done on his teeth so we're having soup, rolls and applesauce for dinner.  That should all be soft enough to eat without making his teeth sore.

600 Posts!

I just noticed that my last post, was my 600th!  Woo-hoo! :)

I am so glad to see the sun shining!  We don't have any big plans for the day but I think we're going to have to get out and soak up some of the sun....even if it is still chilly :)

I felt like such a terrible mama last night.  I was trimming Cloz'r's nails, something I've done many times, and I managed to cut one too short.  I cut the quick :(  She didn't yelp but she jumped up and gave me the saddest look.  She let me finish and then I tried using flour to stop the bleeding.  Of course I gave her treats and lots of love afterwards and she seemed to forgive me but my stomach felt awful. 

We got those dishes sold!!  After talking to a few people about them, my hopes were pretty low on getting anything decent for them.  There were quite a few that had chips or cracks.  There were so many of them though that there would have still been a full set that was in great shape.  We put a listing on craigslist and it only took three days for someone to contact us.  The came to look at the dishes on Sunday and Lloyd negotiated the deal.  We ended up getting more that we thought we would :)  They packed up the dishes and got them out of here.  I'm getting my bareMinerals make-up and getting my hair done this week.  I'm not sure what else I'll do with the money yet.  Maybe get some more craft materials.

April Fool's Day Success!

I usually don't get into the April Fool's Day pranks but this year, I couldn't help myself.  Since Lloyd was working all day and Lauryn doesn't understand pranks yet, my mom was my "victim."  I'm all for the pranks and jokes that are harmless and funny, not the ones that get people upset and make them think something is wrong.  Luckily, mom is a very good sport and has a great sense of humor so she thought the pranks were as funny as I did :) 

I am so ready for this weather to warm up!  I want to get out and go for long walks, take Lauryn to different parks, get my vegetable garden going and plant some more flowers around the house.  With all the plans I have this year, I'll probably have to get a couple of cash advance payday loans to make it all happen :)  Come on spring!  We're waiting!!!

Ice Cream..Y-U-M!!!

I'm not usually a fan of sweets but Lloyd picked up some ice cream the other night and while it's VERY rich, it's so good!  If I keep eating though, I'm going to gain back the 12 pounds I lost!  I heard about this powder you sprinkle on you food and it's supposed to make you feel fuller quicker and prevent you from overeating.  It's called sensa.  Maybe I should use that on my ice cream :)  I can do the sensa weight loss plan :)  Or, maybe I should just lay off the ice cream.  That would probably be a better idea!

 I got a lot done today.  I scrubbed the shower and tub, caught up on the laundry (four loads!), ran a couple of errands, swept, mopped and vacuumed and then made dinner.  We had breaded baked chicken breast tenders, stuffing and corn.  It was pretty yummy!  Then after dinner, we all went for a walk.  It was a little chilly but not too bad.  It will be nice when the weather warms up and we can go on longer walks, every day!

Is That The Sun???

I think Michigan is confused.  Yesterday (and the night before) we had snow, ice, rain and thunderstorms.  Today, most things are still iced over, it's still really cold but the sun has been out and shining all day!  We had a little spring teaser last week and it was so nice!  It was great to get out and go on walks with the family, to feel the sun and a warm breeze :)  I can't wait for it to stay that way!

Well I got all my "Thursday cleaning" done.  Cleaned out and wiped out the fridge, changed the kitty litter, swept, mopped, dusted, washed windows, vacuumed and gathered the garbage to go out. 

Lauryn took an incredibly long nap today.  I was happy about it because I got so much done while she was sleeping but shortly after she got up, I realized she was really warm.  I took her temperature and found she had a fever of 102.1.  I gave her some tylenol and we cuddled on the couch for a bit.  After about a half an hour, she got a burst of energy.  She was running around and hollaring.  But as it got closer to bed time, she wound down again.  I checked her temperature again and it had gone down to 100.2.  I gave her another dose of tylenol and when Lloyd put her to bed she said her head hurt.  I hope she sleeps good tonight and feels better in the morning.  I never feel more helpless as I do when my girl is sick :(

Blah Day

It's hard not to be sleepy and blah when the weather is a mix of rain and snow and absolutely no sun.  I CAN'T WAIT FOR SPRING!!!  Just a few more weeks!  Before I know it, I'll be complaining that it's too hot and too humid :) 

Not a whole lot going on today.  Just a little light cleaning before Willow comes over.  I only have her for an hour and a half today.  Lauryn loves it when she comes over no matter how short the visit is.  And in that hour and a half, those girls will have every toy they can find out and scattered over the floors in every room!  They keep each other pretty occupied though so I can usually get some things done. 

I'm going to the women's expo in Grand Rapids with my aunt this weekend.  I'm not sure what all they'll have there but I'm sure it will be great.  Mostly it will be great to spend some time with my aunt. :)

This week has felt extremely long.  I think it's because Lloyd had to work later than normal a couple of nights and that make the days seem a lot longer for me and Lauryn too!  Hopefully we'll get to spend a lot of time together this weekend.

I'm trying out a new recipe for dinner.  It's for shredded bbq chicken sandwiches.  The chicken breasts and sauce mixture have been in the crock pot for a few hours now and it's smelling good in here!  If it turns out as tasty as it's smelling, I'll post the recipe.  I whipped up a macaroni salad to go with it.

Ah Michigan, you never cease to amaze me.  Today, instead of snowing, it's been raining.  YUCK!  In the spring, I don't mind the rain at all.  When the weather is getting nice and the rain means green grass and flowers, I'm all for it!  But now, when it's cold and nasty out there, all I can say is YUCK!  Days like today make me want to take out a personal loan just so we can go on vacation to somewhere sunny and warm!  :)

A Warm Up!!!

I love that in Michigan, 30 degree weather is a heatwave :)  I keep seeing statuses on facebook that people haven't been wearing coats...a few more degrees and they will be wearing shorts too!  The forecast calls for 50 degrees this week!  Woo Hoo!!  Time to open up some windows and doors and get some fresh air in this place!!!

I've been in a crafty mood lately.  I finished the scarf and earwarmer/headband (will post pics later), I've made a few of my Pay It Forward gifts, I'm starting a pair of slipper socks for my best friends son and I have a pretty big list of things I want to make.  Hopefully my wrist and elbow will hold out long enough for me to get these things done!

We had a pretty low-key Valentine's this year.  I got Lloyd a card and his favorite sweets, made a cake, got Lauryn a gorilla with a rose, a card and they got me a sweet card and my favorite perfume from Victoria's Secret.  I've been out of it for a while so I was super happy to get some more!   I made potato pancakes, sausage and honey biscuits for dinner and we spent the rest of the evening watching WWE.  I know, super romantic, right?  :)

Lauryn's Well Child Visit

Today we had Lauryn's 2 year well child appointment.  Of course, everything went extremely well.  Her weight is good, her height and everything else is right on track.  She seemed to enjoy getting the check up, until it came time to get the shots, of course.  The crazy thing was, she started to laugh at first, which totally threw me off, but after a few seconds she started crying.  I actually laughed for a minute because of her initial reaction.  It really surprised me!  It only took a few minutes to calm her down and then we were out of there.

This warmer weather we've been having has been such a tease!  I know that the winter weather and all of that snow is right around the corner and I'm so not ready for it!  I'd much rather be looking into those Branson vacation packages than finding snow boots for this year but, it's Michigan, what can you do? :P

Beautiful!

What a beautiful day!  It's November, it's supposed to get up to 64 degrees today and I am loving the sunshine!

Right now I have two toddler girls taking a nap but I think when they get up, we might just have to go out and get some of this lovely fresh air!  Lauryn loved showing Willow all the new toys she got from her birthday party.  They've been playing all afternoon!  This is one of the easier "jobs" I've ever had :)

Cold and Rainy Wednesday

Lauryn and I just got back from running to the store and it is not a pretty day out!  Unfortunately, we've probably seen the last of nice days for a while :(

Ugh!  I hate pimples!  I have one on the side of my nose, only it won't actually come up and it hurts bad!  I hate when that happens!  I guess I need to get out and find some kind of acne treatments and try to zap the bugger before it gets worse!

I have so much to catch up on from this weekend!  Our anniversary, Halloween and then yesterday was Lauryn's second birthday!  I need to get the pictures uploaded first :)

Crazy Weather

Today started off pretty normally.  Got up, showered, Lauryn woke up and Willow's dad dropped her off.   The girls had breakfast and went to play and just a few minutes later, tornado sirens were going off.  Getting two toddlers down to the basement, while grabbing shoes, jackets and sippy cups, was pretty interesting.  Not to mention that our basement isn't finished and isn't the best place for kids to place since Lloyd is always working on things down there and there are tools everywhere.  Luckily, all of Lauryn's old toys are down there so I got them put out, in a "safe zone" and that kept them pretty occupied.  We came back up around 11:30 am when the warning was supposed to be over, I changed their pants, refilled their cups and the sirens went off again so I grabbed some snacks and we headed back down.  It didn't last as long the second time.  When it was all done, we came back up and I got the girls some lunch.  It has been crazy windy ever since but the rain has stopped.  I hear it's supposed to be worse tomorrow :(
