One Tired Mama

I am whooped!  Lauryn and I were up a little after 4 am because she had weird dreams and couldn't get back to sleep.  We fell asleep on the couch a little after 7 am and got a little more sleep but it wasn't enough.  Once we were up, we ate some cereal, showered and got ready for the day.  We went to the library and got a few new books, ran to the bank and then to City Hall to pay a bill.  After that, we visited my grandparents for a little while.  Lauryn was a character, as usual, and we had a really nice time.  We stopped at Leppinks on the way home and then shortly after that my mom came over for a visit.

I tried two new recipes tonight and they were both yummy!  I got both recipes from Pinterest.  Dinner was honey sauced chicken done in the crock pot abd poured over white rice.  It was really tasty but I think the next time I try it, I'll try a different cooking method, so maybe the sauce will thicken up a bit.  The second recipe was dessert.  Mini pineapple upside-down cakes.  They were made from scratch and are delicious!  Pineapple upside-down cake is my all-time favorite dessert and when I saw the recipe I had to try it :)  I am so glad I did!  Lauryn shared one with me before bed and she loved it too.

Tomorrow will be a little less busy.  I'm hoping to visit the preschool we want Lauryn to go to, drop off her paper work and check everything out.  Then I need to spend some much needed time getting this house clean.  For the most part, other than a few toys around, it looks clean enough but I have neglected a few things and don't want it to get out of hand.

Another Hot One!

Since we had a couple of errands to run, we got ready early and went out before it got to hot.  Just a trip to the store and the post office and then we were back home in the air.  I think I'm going to get the sprinkler out this afternoon, for Lauryn to run around in after her nap.  I didn't end up getting the kiddie pool set up because it's in the top of the garage and I don't want to climb up  to get it.

I think we need to invest in a home steam carpet cleaner austin.  In the two and half years that we've been here, we've managed to keep the carpets looking pretty good but it would be nice to be able to steam clean them a couple of times a year, or steam clean spots when we get them.  Between the dog, the cat and a two year old, it's actually pretty amazing the carpets are in such good shape!  I'm going to check out http://www.thesteamteam.com/ to see what they have to offer.

Whew!!!

Yes, I was one of those people who couldn't wait for winter to be over and the snow to be gone. I am also one of those people who does not like hot, humid days. Lauryn and I were out a little bit ago running errands and it is HOT! I'm glad we got everything done early! Now all I have to do is some light cleaning, in the comfort of my nicely cooled home. :) I do think it's time to get Lauryn's pool out of the garage and get it blown up and filled for her. She'll love splashing around, staying cool and it will keep her busy while I weed the garden.

While we were out and about, I saw a woman on the side of the road with a flat tire. There was someone helping her so we didn't stop but it made me very appreciative that we have emergency road service, just in case something like that were to happen to us. With Lloyd working in Grand Rapids and almost all of my friends and family working during the day, it just offers some peace of mind!

She's Baaaack!

Lauryn is back to normal :)  She didn't have a fever yesterday and it hasn't come back today!  Yay!!!  I am one happy Mama!  Her gums, at least on one side, still seem to be red and swollen but they don't seem to be bothering her at all today.  I will be happy when those darn teeth finally break through.  She didn't have an easy time with any of her teeth breaking through so I'm not surprised that she's having problems this time.

Not a whole lot going on today.  The house has been picked up, dishes are done, bed is made, we went to the bank and the store.  I have two loads of laundry to catch up on but that's about all I have planned for the rest of the day.  I was supposed to have Willow today but the poor girl caught that nasty stomach bug that's been going around.  Hopefully it own't last long!  Lauryn is missing her BFF :)  I still have to figure out what to make for dinner but we have some leftovers to use up so it should be easy :)

Just Waiting

Today we're getting new doors put in on the front of the house and in the kitchen (that goes out to the back porch).  Now I'm just waiting for the guy to come and install it.

No big plans for today.  The house is pretty clean, no one is coming over and I just have to run to the bank and the store.

Making tacos and guacamole for dinner tonight :)

It's Friday!

Here it is, the middle of July, and again I'm sitting her feeling cold!  Weird!

Lots of running to do today.  Taking mom to cash her check, pay a couple of bills and then it's off to Greenville to get groceries.  I haven't done too much around the house this morning.  I cleaned the microwave and started putting away some more of the clothes that I hadn't gone through yet in the bedroom.  I'm starting to run out of room though so the rest will probably end up getting stored in the basement.

I'm not sure what to make for dinner yet.  It's cooler so I might make something in the oven tonight.  I'm also thinking about making a Golden Delicious Apple Bundt cake.  I have everything for it except pecans so I'll have to pick some up when we go out.  If I don't make it tonight, I'll probably end up making it tomorrow because I want to use the apples up before they go bad.  I'll post the recipe if it turns out :)

Lauryn is getting a good nap right now.  She was getting pretty fussy so I'm glad she's getting one.  She's always so happy when she wakes up.  She's having mango's for lunch again today.  She LOVES mango's :)

Busy, Busy

Today is going to be a little bit busy.  I have go sign up for a "class" at Washington School, return some blinds that were the wrong size, go to Wal-Mart and Meijer and hope to find some things for a friends wedding this weekend, get a few groceries that are on sale, a stop at the library, a stop at the post office, try to get out and weed the garden and I want to finish the laundry and do up the dishes before I go.  My kitchen was all nice and clean this morning but then I decided to throw a roast in the crock pot so now there's a few dishes in the sink.  I hope the roast turns out well.

Lloyd has a late night tonight.  He probably won't be getting home until around midnight.  He has games at 8:45 pm and 9:45 pm.  He's going to be whooped when he gets home!

Off to get ready for the day!

What Is With This Weather?

It is July 2nd and again I am cold!

Yesterday was busy!  Took mom to Saranac to pick up and cash her check, went to a couple of stores, then to Shane and Trisha's to pick up mom's old car battery, to the parts store to get the new battery, to BK to get lunch, home to eat it, Greenville to the Secretary of State, the dollar store and then back to Shane and Trisha's so Shane could put the new battery in her car.  We came back here afterwards and ate dinner and Kathye came over for "workout Wednesday."  We did workout a little but we were mostly impressed about our Raspberry Pucker smoothies!  I had told her about these smoothies I've been having for breakfast and how they were pretty yummy and of course, she said she didn't believe me (that's her way of telling people she wants to try it :) ) so I made some.  They turned out a little tart and she was saying that bananas would probably make them better.... that or rum!  I told her I had Raspberry pucker and that would compliment the berry mixture, so we tried it and it was pretty good!

Today I have tons of cleaning to do :(  I have about four loads of laundry, it's garbage day so I have to clean out the fridge and the litter and bag up the trash and the floors need vacuuming.

Lauryn is so close to crawling!  She doesn't do her wiggle back and forth on her tummy thing to get places any more.  Now she's using her hands and her knees and feet to get places.  She just hasn't completely figured out how to make them all work together :)  I'd say by next week she'll have it down!

I think I might make that ham dinner tonight.  And I want to find a good shortcake recipe.
