I am so happy that it finally cooled down! I've been needing to weed the garden but with the past couple days being so darn hot, there was no way I was going to do it! We have Willow today and after the girls get up from their nap, as long as it doesn't rain, we're going to go out back and they can play while I weed the garden and clean out the flower bed.
I have a lot to catch up on inside the house today too! Being Thursday, with trash day tomorrow, I have to clean out the fridge, gather all the garbage, sweep, vacuum, clean the finger print smudged windows, clean the bathroom and do some laundry. There are two loads just calling my name and I've been ignoring them. Can't avoid it forever! :)
I finished "I've Heard That Song Before" by Mary Higgins Clark this morning. It was a pretty good read! I have quite a few books that I recently picked up at sales and I'm trying to decide which one to read next :)

Yawning, Yawning, Yawning
I can't stop yawning today! Yesterday, I cleaned out my flower bed and filled it with new flowers. I addressed 200 envelopes for Lloyd, to send his newsletter out in, then Lauryn and I went back outside and I weeded the garden and got it ready for Lloyd to till again when he got home. We were outside quite a bit yesterday and all that fresh air made me very sleepy! By 10:30 pm, I was fighting to stay awake so I could watch the season finale of "The Good Wife" but I lost the battle and went to bed. I slept for about four hours and woke up when I heard Lauryn awake and upset in her room. After calming her down and getting her back to sleep, I was wide awake! Now I feel like I could fall asleep at any moment. As soon as Lauryn goes down for her nap, I'm going to try to get one too!

Next Summer
I know we are just getting past this summer but I'm already thinking of what I'd like to do in the yard for next spring/summer. I can't wait to do my garden again. I love planting different things each year! Next year I want to plant some romaine lettuce and potatoes. I'll want to do much more but I haven't figured that all out yet :) I can't wait to add some more flowers too! And figure out what to do about the empty spaces in front of the house where those awful bushes used to be! I also want to get some rustic furniture for the backyard. Some for around the fire pit and up by the grill and tables. I'm so looking forward to next summer!

Getting Back Into It
The last two weeks, I totally dropped the ball on my morning walks. I couldn't sleep which meant staying up way too late to get up at 5 am! Yesterday and today I got back into it and it feels great! It was nice last night to to actually feel tired just after 10 pm. The only downside to doing this is I've been working up a sweat and I think it's making my skin break out. I use astringent and toner before my shower but it doesn't seem to be working. Time to look into different acne products.
I can't wait to get my truck back! I miss it :( Hopefully either tonight or tomorrow we'll finally here just what's wrong with it and when we'll be getting it back!
As much as I don't like this hot weather, I'm loving what it's doing for my garden! I've already picked tons of cucumbers and I've noticed about a dozen or more cantaloupe growing! Lauryn and I love melons!!! I can't wait until those are ripe and ready to eat!

Too Hot
I have not been loving this weather at all! I don't mind the heat but added with the humidity it just makes it miserable! I haven't wanted to get out and weed the garden in the last few days and it's really starting to need it. When I was out in the yard Friday, I was pleasantly surprised when Lloyd mentioned that there were a couple of cucumbers ready to be picked. I think I'm going to put them in vinegar with dill, also from the garden and have them with dinner tonight :)
I think we need to get one of those convex mirrors for the back yard :) Like the kind they have in convenience stores. We need it to keep an eye on Cloz'r! When we're sitting on the patio, Cloz'r sneaks off to the back of the garage and if we don't pay close attention, she sneaks off to see the neighbors. If she only went that far, I wouldn't mind but she likes to wander beyond that. We're planning on putting a fence in but when I was at the gas station the other day, I saw one of those mirrors and had to smile, thinking about putting one in our yard!

Feeling Better
Now my cold has gone from sore throat, to sinus yuckiness and now it's become a nagging cough - which is a lot better than that sinus crap! Hopefully I will be rid of it all in a day or two! So far, we've managed to keep Lloyd and Lauryn from getting it *knock on wood!*
On Saturday, one of Lauryn's top front teeth finally broke through! YAY!!! And you can see the other one just under the surface. For the past few days I've had my sweet little girl back! Seems like once they break through, they don't bother her quite as much so she's not so fussy. I can't wait to see her with her two top teeth to go along with her two bottom ones. That's going to be adorable!
I can't believe it's only going to be in the 50's today! Last year, when we were bringing Lauryn home from the hospital (beginning of November) we had 70 degree weather. I'm thinking it's not going to happen this year. I can't believe that my garden is still going! Sunday I picked about 15-20 tomatoes and saw that I have six green peppers that will be ready soon. Hopefully they make it!
I'm thinking about making meatloaf and linguine oil and garlic tonight. I'm not sure about the veggie yet. I still have to run to the store.

Weird Dreams
I have been having the weirdest dreams lately. The other night, I had a dream that I got up and went to check on Lauryn and she had multiplied! The funny part was that it was like it was just one of those things that babies can do :) I remember saying to Lloyd, "Well, Lauryn multiplied, now we have two of her" like it was no big deal. Silly.
Over the weekend we lowered the mattress on her bed. She's starting to pull herself up now so it was time. Unfortunately, since I'm not very tall, I can hardly reach her! The crib was a gift from Lloyd's coworkers and it doesn't have a side that goes down like the old cribs do. So now that the mattress is lowered, I seriously can barely reach her! It sounds silly but I'm thinking I need to get a step stool. When I put her to bed, it's not such a big deal because I can sit her up and then help her lay down but last night when she woke up in the middle of the night and I rocked her back to sleep, I had a really hard time reaching over the crib to gently lay her down.
We finally figured out what the mystery plant in our garden was.....a pumpkin! We thought squash or even a small watermelon (which I was so hoping for) and were told that when the leaves die, it's time to pick it. So I went out and the leaves were looking pretty bad, so I brought it in and when I cut it open to find out, it was a pumpkin! It hadn't turned orange yet but it had the right seeds and that unmistakable pumpkin smell. Unfortunately since it wasn't totally ripe, there wasn't anything I could do with it but it was nice to know what the heck it was. Everyone was guessing LOL

Good Luck Lloyd
At this very moment, my husband is taking a test to get his loan officer's license. He was a little nervous but I know he'll pass it with flying colors! You can do it Babe!
Happy 10 months to Lauryn! I can't believe in two more months she will be a year old! It just doesn't seem possible! Where did my sweet little baby who needed me for every little thing go? Now she's little Miss Independent :)
I have to finish up my list of "chores" today. I got almost everything done but I still have one load of laundry to get to and I still need to mop the kitchen floor. I also want to get out to the garden and get any weeds out there....there is no way I'm spending another three hours on it like I did last week! I have a few tomatoes and a green pepper all ready to be picked too :) I can't wait for next years garden! It will be at least twice as big and I'm planning on doing a lot of fruit!

Cari, Cari Quite Contrary
How does your garden grow? It's doing pretty darn well! My tomato plants are full of tomatoes, mostly still green but I do have a red one! The green peppers have flowered and are starting to grow little tiny peppers, the onions seem to be doing well, the cucumber is totally a lost cause and the mystery plants are flowering. We think they might be squash.
Lots and lots of cleaning needs to be done today. Besides the usual Thursday cleaning (the fridge, the litter...), I've been cleaning Lauryn's closet. Every where we go, someone is giving her something and it ends up just going in her closet. I've been sorting through the clothes that don't fit her any more and organizing everything. I've already vacuumed today because shedding dog + crawling baby = hairy baby and I can't let that happen! The laundry is actually caught up for once so I don't need to worry about that but once the fridge gets cleaned out there will be plenty of dishes. Gotta love Thursdays!

Another Wonderful Weekend
I have been loving these last few weekends! This one was perfect! Spending so much time with Lloyd and Lauryn has been great! It had been so long since we had a weekend to ourselves and I hope we get more of them! When we lived in Grand Rapids we had tons of time to ourselves and we loved it. When we moved here we hardly got any time because he was working so late and would come home, eat and go to bed. Weekends were spent working on the other house but now that that's all taken care of we can just enjoy each others company.
I made homemade pizza tonight. It turned out great. I getting pretty good with the crust. I even threw it in the air a few times :)
The garden is looking pretty good. Lloyd weeded it the other night and I went out and saw that I have six tomatoes on one plant, a few more starting on the other one, the green peppers are starting to bud, the onions seem to be doing just fine and even the mystery plants are taking off. We think they might be squash.
We might be getting new doors put in tomorrow. That will be so nice. The doors we have now look so old and dated. We're getting ones with windows that go all the way down, which Cloz'r will love so she can watch the neighborhood like she used to at the old house.
Well, I'm off to go eat some of that yummy golden delicious apple bundt cake and to watch a movie with Lloyd. Good night all!
