So Not Awake

I have been up since a little before 7 am but I don't think I'm actually awake yet!  I didn't sleep well at all last night.  I think sitting in the waiting room so long yesterday did a number on my back.  We have Willow today and I'm thankful that both girls are old enough to keep themselves pretty occupied because I feel a bit like a zombie walking around.  After lunch we're going to head outside and I'm hoping the fresh air will wake me up!  Luckily I don't have a ton to do today.  A little tidying up, getting a check in the mail for for life insurance for my family and later I have to run to the store to pick up a few things.  I think Cloz'r must have had a long night too because she's been sleeping all day! :)

Sleep? What's That?

For a few weeks now, I haven't been sleeping through the night.  Most nights, I can't seem to get comfortable or I wake up to use the bathroom and can't fall asleep.  Other nights, Lauryn wakes up and is up for a couple of hours.  It's definitely wearing on me!  I try to take naps on the weekends to catch up but I don't get the opportunity to do that during the week.  I've also been having some very weird dreams, when I do get some sleep.  I want to get Lauryn's ears pierced for her birthday and I dreamt that the only earrings that wouldn't infect her ears were Black diamond earrings!  Whatever is going on with me at night time, I hope it goes back to normal soon!

Tired

Actually tired doesn't even come close to describing the level of tiredness I'm feeling.  Not only am I having trouble sleeping at night, once I do fall asleep, I either have bad dreams or I just wake up for no reason.  Last night, I woke up, couldn't fall back asleep and ended up watching an infomercial about the top 10 motorcycle gps's.  FUN!  I hope this doesn't last long because being exhausted all day and having a two year old doesn't really work well!

Busy Day!

What a busy day this has been!  Luckily, I've had a little more energy today than I did yesterday.  My inlaws are coming to bring us our camper and staying for dinner so I pattied some burgers, made potato salad and caramel apple salad.  We'll be having beans and veggies with it too.  After I made the salads, Lauryn took a nap and I was able to sweep, mop, vacuum, do the dishes, wash the windows and clean the bathroom.  My house is looking pretty darn good right now :)

After not being able to sleep so good for a few nights and then waking up pretty early this morning, I'm afraid I'm going to have permanent dark circles!  Correction, I actually already have permanent dark circles (I inherited them from my dad's side), so I should say darker permanent circles!  One of the night's I WILL be able to catch up on my sleep! :)

Yawning, Yawning, Yawning

I can't stop yawning today!  Yesterday, I cleaned out my flower bed and filled it with new flowers.  I addressed 200 envelopes for Lloyd, to send his newsletter out in, then Lauryn and I went back outside and I weeded the garden and got it ready for Lloyd to till again when he got home.  We were outside quite a bit yesterday and all that fresh air made me very sleepy!  By 10:30 pm, I was fighting to stay awake so I could watch the season finale of "The Good Wife" but I lost the battle and went to bed.  I slept for about four hours and woke up when I heard Lauryn awake and upset in her room.  After calming her down and getting her back to sleep, I was wide awake!  Now I feel like I could fall asleep at any moment.  As soon as Lauryn goes down for her nap, I'm going to try to get one too!

Easter

I think Lauryn and I are going to head to Greenville today to see if we can find an Easter dress for her.  We're probably going to have to get new shoes for her too.  I haven't put her dress shoes on her in a while but I'm sure she's outgrown them.  We're going to head to Baby Bloomers first.  That's my favorite second-hand baby store.  Everything is always in the best condition.  I'm sure we'll find something :)

I am tired today!  I must not have slept too well last night because it's only a little after 10:30 am and I feel like I could take a nap!  Maybe when Lauryn takes hers this afternoon, I'll try to get one too.  I'll probably end up doing some cleaning or laundry though. 

I recently saw something on the news that said that Michigan has one of the highest rates for people moving out of the state.  Makes sense to me when you see how many jobs we've lost here.  I saw an ad for Columbus jobs and it was surprised to see how many were available.  Being a stay at home mom, this doesn't affect me personally but it does to many people I know and I dread the thought of friends and family having to move out of Michigan just to get work.  I wish our state could get it together!

Can't Wake Up!

For some reason I could not sleep last night.  There wasn't anything wrong, I was just awake!  We all got up around 7:30 this morning and I still feel like I'm not with it.  I think after lunch Lauryn and I are going to have to take a walk down to the park for some fresh air and fun :)  Maybe that will give me the boost I'm looking for because the coffee isn't cutting it!

I'm thinking about setting up a shop at Etsy and trying to sell some of my crafts.  I have quite a few things made already so I would have a good start but I just don't know if anyone would want to buy them.  I was looking around at other Etsy stores, comparing other people's crafts to what I can do, and it just seemed like everything they made was so much nicer or fancier than the things I make.  Lloyd says it's just me but I don't know.  I guess I should just give it a try and see how it goes :)

Gonna Be A Good Day

I actually got a good nights sleep last night.  Yay!  Lauryn started fussing around 2 am but by the time I got to her room to check on her, she was already sound asleep.  Fortunately I was able to get right back to sleep too.  So nice!  I did have some pretty random dreams though.  Starting with seeing a friend from high school that I haven't seen in ages and ending with watching some weird informercial type show about testosterone supplements.  I think I watched too much t.v. yesterday :)

It's going to be a regular Thursday for the most part.  Cleaning, getting the trash ready to go out and watching Willow this afternoon.  Lauryn and I will be eating dinner by ourselves tonight because Lloyd has to teach a class tonight at the ICCF.  Then Aunt Dereka is coming over a visit.  I'm really looking forward to seeing her.  It's been too long!

Tired and Pale

I feel like I cannot catch up on my sleep lately! No matter what time I go to bed, I wake up tired and feel that way for half of the day. Coffee is not helping one bit!

Also, I noticed how very pale my legs are these days. I miss the sun! I could try those indoor tanning lotions but they never seem to work right and I really don't want to be orange through the winter. It's just not my color :)

Ahhh Sleep!

Lauryn has been back to sleeping through the night again for quite a few nights now and I am loving it!!!  Her teeth must not be bothering her much at all now because when they were, she was waking up at least once a night, every night!  Today, we even slept in!!!!  Hallelujah!!!   It's been great!

I am also loving the grill these days!  I've always loved grilling because it's great food with less dishes to clean afterward but this year, we've only grilled with charcoal and everything tastes so good!  We've always used our propane grill but the first time we got it out, we realized we were out of propane so we pulled out little charcoal grill out and have been using that or the big charcoal grill we have ever since.  Yes, we have three grills, silly I know.  We've mainly been sticking to the bigger charcoal grill though.  As far as I'm concerned the gas one can go right back into the garage!  I'm getting really good at grilling too!  So far this year, steaks, burgers and chicken have been coming out perfectly!

I've been thinking of trying out a new craft.  I really love when I get homemade cards from people and I think it would be something really fun to try.  Probably start out with birthday cards and holiday cards and if I really like it, then I can move on to bigger events for friends like wedding or baby shower invitations.  We'll see how it goes :)

A Good Nights Sleep

For the first time in quite a while, I actually went to bed at a decent hour last night, slept the whole night through and when Lauryn woke up at 5:30 this morning, I didn't feel like a zombie when I went to get her.  Nice :)

Yesterday was really nice.  We went to Lloyd's aunts house to celebrate his grandma's 84th birthday.  The food was good, the company was great and we got a couple of really cute pics with Lauryn and her great grandma.  We went to his parents for a little visit before we came home.  His dad is putting up a new shed (it's huge!) and Lloyd wanted to see it.  We didn't do too much after we got home.  Just got Lauryn bathed and to bed and watched a little t.v.

Today I plan on weeding my garden...it is so in need of it!  At least everything is growing really well.  On Saturday I picked two big green peppers and a few tomatoes out of it.  Once the rest of the tomatoes are ready, we're going to have a ton!  I'll have to do some canning.  We also figured out that the mystery plant is butternut squash.  Not something I'm crazy about but my mom loves it so she'll be very happy when it's ripe.  Other than weeding the garden, I do have a load of laundry to do and I need to clean out the fridge.

I'm making spaghetti and meatballs tonight for dinner.  I've perfected my meatballs and have been craving them :)  We'll probably have that "not quite" ciabatta bread rubbed with garlic to go with it.

Sleepy

Today was nice but felt incredibly long!  Lauryn and I were up most of the night last night and even though I did fall asleep for a little while on the couch while she was taking a nap, I still felt whooped most of the day.  I vacuumed, did the dishes and made dinner...that's about it!  I used some of the roast I made for dinner yesterday to make shredded beef tacos.  I just added some garlic and some cumin and they were really good!  I made Mexican rice and of course, guacamole to go with it.  It's been a few hours but I think I'm still stuffed.

I should really head to bed.  Wish me luck that me and my sweet pea get a good nights sleep!

Long Night

Lauryn woke up at 1:50 am last night.  I think her teeth were bothering her again.  It didn't take me too long to get her back to sleep though.  I, on the other hand, was up until about 4:30 am.  I felt hot and could not get back to sleep.  I may have to take a nap when she takes hers today :)

I only accomplished some of what I wanted to do yesterday.  I got a little caught up in filling in Lauryn's baby book :)  I still need to weed the garden, sweep and mop the kitchen floor, wash the bedding and since the garbage needs to go out tonight, I have to clean out the fridge, the kitty litter and empty the bathroom trash.  Fun, fun!

"Workout Wednesday" wasn't very productive as far as working out goes.  We pretty much just spent the time putting up her Pack & Play and drinking coffee.

Happy To See The Sun

Lauryn was so darn cute last night. She's been saying, "mama, mama" non-stop for a couple of weeks now and she finally started saying, "dada" last night. I know Lloyd really loved hearing that! She's been talking up a blue streak these days, which doesn't really surprise me since her parents are both big talkers, and I just love listening to her when she gets on a roll!

We had another great nights sleep! It feels so nice to wake up feel refreshed and not groggy. The sun being out helps, I think. I love to have all the windows open and the ceiling fans going, just getting all that fresh air in here!

Tomorrow is garbage day so I just finished cleaning out the fridge. Now it looks so bare! I still have to figure out what I'm making for dinner tonight. Kathye dropped off some potato soup last night and I'm thinking I may just have to heat that up and make some biscuits to go with it.

Sleep, Glorious Sleep

Lauryn finally got a great night's sleep...which means so did her mama! She was really fighting going to sleep last night so I thought it was going to be another long one but once she went down, she was out for the whole night. I woke up feeling refreshed and when she got up, she was her normal, happy self! Yay sleep! :)

No big plans for today. My brother and nephew are coming over to rip out the drywall in the basement. I've already vacuumed, the dishes are done up, Lauryn's ready for the day but I still need to hop in the shower. I do have two loads of laundry to do and I'm not making anything special for dinner tonight because Lloyd has softball and won't get home until around 9 pm or so. Maybe I'll make beef and noodles out of last nights leftovers. Maybe when Lauryn takes a nap I should spend a little more time cruising around this site and learning a little more about it :)
