Motivation

I really need to find my crafting motivation.  I recently crocheted a couple of baby wash cloths but other than that, I haven't made anything in quite some time.  There's a whole room in the basement just filled with supplies, I just need to get back into it all.  While out shopping the other day, I noticed some really cute nursing uniforms and my first thought was that they would make some adorable decorative pillows for Lauryn's room.  Only two problems with that though.  One, I still don't really know how to use my sewing machine and two, I have no desire to sew them by hand.  I've gone through lulls before but it's been a while since I've had any desire to make anything and it's getting to be a bummer.  I need to find a project I can get excited about!

Lauryn's Pregnancy

Yes, you read that right.  The title of this post is "Lauryn's Pregnancy."  For those of you who may be reading this but don't know me, I am talking about my three year old.  If you ask her about the baby in my belly, she'll tell you we're having a boy and we're naming him Lucas.  Then she'll go on to tell you about the baby in her tummy.  The "Baby Ragged Dinosaur."  I don't know where she came up with Baby Ragged Dinosaur but that's what it's been since this all started.  She tells me all the time that her baby is giving her heartburn and she should probably have some Tums and the other day she came running in the kitchen to tell me that she had just felt her baby kick!  It cracks me up!  I think her pregnancy has been harder on her than mine has been on me!  I love my silly girl!

On a different note, I'm thinking about making a yoga mat bag for a friend of mine.  I need to get back into crocheting because there will be two new babies coming in May and June and I thought that would be a good project to get the ball rolling.  I've been looking at patterns but I think I'll probably end up making something on my own.

Crafts

My craft room is such a mess right now!  There's yarn, nylon netting, crochet hooks, books, sewing materials and boxes and boxes of beads.  I nead to take some time and get it all organized.  I think it's time to do some different crafts too.  My hands have been hurting a little bit lately so I haven't been crocheting much, beading jewelry doesn't hurt my fingers and it's something I haven't done in a while.  There are also all the new crafts I want to try because of the ideas I've gotten from Pinterest!  I suppose I should get that room organized first though, before I start a bunch of new projects!

Busy Little Girls

We have Willow here today and it's so much fun watching these girls interact.  They talk up a storm, they run around and chase each other and you can't help but laugh when they get to giggling.  They also wear me out! :)  We've played hide and seek, we've colored, they've been on the potty a half a dozen times (without success) and we've played with baby dolls.  They're down for a nap right now, so the house is a whole lot quiter!

I'm getting so close to finishing my netbook bag.  I need to sew the felt in, sew the buttons on, sew up the sides and attach the handle.  If I have enough yarn when I'm done, I'm going to whip up a pocket for the back of it.  I'm getting so excited and can't wait to see it when it's done.  I get pretty proud of projects when they are my own and not someone else's pattern :)

Lloyd and I have been talking about weight loss quite a bit lately.  We both want to lose some weight and get into better shape.  We've been talking about P90x, m drol, actually using our elliptical machine, etc.  We need to stop talking about it and start doing it!  A friend of ours posted before and after pictures after using P90x and the results are amazing!  We both just want to be healthier people so we can set a good example for Lauryn....and have more energy to keep up with her!

Waiting...

I am expecting a package to be delivered today and I'm getting so antsy just waiting.  It's my own fault.  If I would stop checking the tracking on the shipment, I wouldn't know it should be here anytime and I wouldn't run to the door everytime I hear a vehicle.  Lame, I know.  I'm just excited because I was finally able to order me all-time favorite make-up :)  It's a little pricey but I've tried off brand versions of it and it's just not the same.  The make-up is bareMinerals and I just love it!

To try to keep my mind of the waiting, I've been trying to keep busy with things around the house.  I've been crocheting, doing laundry, the dishes, playing with two little girls and checking on things online.  When the girls wake up from their nap, I think we're all going to sit down and color some Easter decorations for the picture window.  That should help pass some time :)  I have no patience!

A Warm Up!!!

I love that in Michigan, 30 degree weather is a heatwave :)  I keep seeing statuses on facebook that people haven't been wearing coats...a few more degrees and they will be wearing shorts too!  The forecast calls for 50 degrees this week!  Woo Hoo!!  Time to open up some windows and doors and get some fresh air in this place!!!

I've been in a crafty mood lately.  I finished the scarf and earwarmer/headband (will post pics later), I've made a few of my Pay It Forward gifts, I'm starting a pair of slipper socks for my best friends son and I have a pretty big list of things I want to make.  Hopefully my wrist and elbow will hold out long enough for me to get these things done!

We had a pretty low-key Valentine's this year.  I got Lloyd a card and his favorite sweets, made a cake, got Lauryn a gorilla with a rose, a card and they got me a sweet card and my favorite perfume from Victoria's Secret.  I've been out of it for a while so I was super happy to get some more!   I made potato pancakes, sausage and honey biscuits for dinner and we spent the rest of the evening watching WWE.  I know, super romantic, right?  :)

It's Wednesday

It's Wednesday but after having such a long weekend, it feels like it should be Friday already!  I have no big plans for today.  Just a little house cleaning, some crocheting and maybe working a little more on the zoo scrapbook I started for Lauryn.  Other than that, it's going to be a very uneventful day!

Tomorrow night, mom and I are going to head to Greenville for a little shopping.  I still have to make a list of things I need to get.  Mom mentioned looking at things that might be comparable to prototype 37c.  I'm sure there's something that we'll be able to find.

About the scrapbook I started last night, I think I might be getting into it more that I thought I would.  I had only decided to try it because I wanted to make something special for Lauryn using the pictures we took from her first trip to the zoo.  It's a lot more fun than I thought it would be and I'm already thinking about the millions of other pictures we have around here and what I can do with them :)

Crafts

I've been getting back into crocheting again.  I go through phases with it.  For months, I'll go non-stop, making blankets, hats, all kinds of things.  Then I'll need a break for a month or so.  I'm back on again :)  I just finished a sunglasses case for my aunt, which I completely forgot to take a picture of, and now I'm starting on a blanket.  I've also been thinking about getting back into jewelry.  It's been quite a while since I've made any and Kathye was here recently talking about how we should make some together and I think that was enough to me wanting to do that again :)  I've been thinking about trying to sell my crafts again.  I've tried selling online before, on one of the more popular selling sites, and didn't have a lot of luck because people want to pay pennies for homemade things and I cannot put that many hours into something, like a blanket, and sell if for that cheap.  Maybe I should give craft shows a whirl.  There, people know the time it takes to make some things and expect to pay a reasonable price.  The last one I went to, there was a woman who'd made it quite the business for herself.  She even had a epson receipt printer to give people receipts for their purchases.  I was pretty impressed with her and would love if I could make some decent money selling my items.

Slowing Down

I think I need to slow down on the crocheting. I've been getting joint pain in my elbow and my wrist the last few times I've picked up a project and it lasts for a good day or two afterward. I'm bummed because I go through crocheting spurts...sometimes I have no want to do it and then there are times when I don't want to put it down. I'm in one of those times right now but I think it's best if I give it a rest for a little while. Maybe I'll try my hand at scrap booking. I've never done it before and I got a starter kit as a gift at one of my baby showers so I'm thinking of giving it a try. I have tons of pictures of Lauryn and I'd love to make her a cute scrap book but I'm not really sure where to start with all of that. I know a few people who do it though so I guess I should start by asking them for some ideas :)

One More Month

I can't believe in one more month, we'll be celebrating my baby girls first birthday!  It just doesn't seem possible.  I've been get the party all planned and I'm trying to keep it as small as possible because we just don't have a lot of room for a big party.  I think my list is pretty much finalized and including the three of us, there will possibly be 21 people here.  One more month....Holy Cow!

Today is looking awfully dreary.  It's cold and very rainy right....good nap weather :) My house is smelling very yummy this morning.  I've had a roast in the crock pot, which was seared first, for over an hour now.  Mom has to work tomorrow so it will just be me and Lloyd for dinner.  She's going to visit tomorrow though and hopefully my aunt will be coming over on Sunday.  I miss her a lot!

I'm getting really far on the blanket I'm making for Lauryn.  I haven't decided just how big to make it but I guess when I run out of yarn, it's done :)  It's getting pretty big.  As soon as I'm done, I'll post pictures.  This is by far my favorite blanket - great colors and great pattern!

Stuffed

On Sundays, I usually try to make a nice big dinner for us but this past Sunday, I was still really tired from the wedding/reception the night before that I ended up just reheated some leftovers.  Well, I think I made up for it tonight.  We had bbq grilled chicken breasts, corn on the cob on the grill, linguine oil and garlic and ciabatta bread drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, grilled and rubbed with a clove of garlic.  YUMMY!  Rubbing the bread with garlic is my new favorite way of making garlic bread.  It's so easy and so tasty!  I am still stuffed!

Lauryn was a tad fussier than usual today.  My poor girl :(  I wish her teeth would just come in already.  This is how it went with the first two though so I should have expected it to go this way when more started coming in.  It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't take them so long to break through.  Once they've actually started to come through she seems to be a lot happier but until they do, she seems so miserable.

Between yesterday and today I got most of the laundry done.  I still have  a load of whites to put in but it's not much of a load at all so I didn't bother with it today.

I'm making more progress on that blanket.  I so wish I wouldn't have forgotten about it before so I wouldn't have to crochet until my fingers fall every night!  It's turning out really cute though.  I'll have to post a picture of it when I'm done.

My Arm Is Going To Fall Off!

I completely forgot about making a baby blanket for a friend who is due next month, so I have to bust butt and get one done ASAP!  I started it last night, had to make a few adjustments to the pattern and have been trying to work on it as much as possible.  The problem is, it's been a while since I've crocheted anything and my arm and wrist feel like they're about to fall off.

I made the yummiest enchiladas tonight.  Of course, I made guacamole too :)  I haven't made enchilada's in so long and they've been sounding so good.  They turned out great!

I had such a nice visit with Cary and her daughter yesterday.  I miss that girl!  It's always fun to catch up and gossip!  Makes me remember the "old days" when we hung out every single day!

Nothing major planned for tomorrow.  Mom has to work tomorrow and Saturday so she won't be coming over for dinner.  I do have to run to a couple of stores and I'm hoping to find more pants for Lauryn.  She has tons of tops and onesies but only one pair of shorts and a couple of skirts that fit her right now.  I can't believe that with all of the clothes we received at the showers, I'm having to buy more!  I didn't think that would happen for quite a while yet.

Well, I'm calling it an early night tonight.  I've been yawning for the last two hours and I'm hoping Lloyd has already fallen asleep so I can change the channel when I get in there :)  G'night to all!
